It has a large number of marsh crocodile, which is amongst the 40 species of reptiles and amphibians present in the sanctuary.Gir National Park is dotted with an abundance of vegetation along with the different species of birds and animals. Covering an area of about 1412 sq. km, Gir is considered one of the most amazing National Parks in the country.Flora in Gir National Park includes semi-evergreen and evergreen trees, large patches of grasslands and rocky hills. The trees on the hills are short.There is vegetation along the rivers and streams in the area. The Teak, Acacia, Banyan, Zizyphas, Jamun, Tendu and Dhak are the types of trees you would find here. The Teak constitutes almost half of the total vegetation area.
