The spacious canvas and bamboo yurts have been specially fabricated by hand
and retain the essential characteristics of the original Central Asian and
Mongolian "Akois" on which they are modeled. Furnished in soft
pastels, each yurt has comfortable twin beds, a cozy sitting area and an
individual attached bathroom with solar heating.

The rendezvous for meals and gatherings is an attractive hexagonal
building, designed after traditional Ladakhi architecture, with a lounge and
dining room, complete with a Buddhist chapel. Subtle electric lighting,
supplemented by kerosene lamps, provides the Evening illumination.
The Ladakh Sarai serves as an ideal base for treks and jeep safaris
throughout the Western Himalayan Mountain region.
